Turn a slide deck into something an AI tool can actually use
Presentations are built to be looked at, not read line by line, which is exactly the problem when you want an AI tool to summarize one, pull out key points, or answer questions about it.

The problem with handing over a raw deck
A slide deck file carries a lot of presentation-specific baggage: layout positions, animation settings, master slide templates, speaker notes formatting. An AI tool doesn't need any of that to tell you what slide four says.
We go slide by slide, pull the title and the text content from each one, and lay it out as a simple Markdown outline, one heading per slide with bullet points underneath. Pulling text out of a screenshot or image on a slide is a premium capability (contact us for a dedicated instance with it enabled), not something this free converter does.
What you will get back
- One section per slide, with the slide's title used as the heading
- Bullet points for whatever text was on that slide
- A plain-text .md file, works on both older .ppt files and newer .pptx files
Common questions
Do I lose the images and charts themselves?
The output is Markdown text only, so visual elements like charts and photos are not carried over as images. Pulling text out of a picture, a screenshot of an email, for instance, is a premium add-on rather than part of this free converter; contact us if that is something you need.
How do you know which text box is the title?
We use the first text box on each slide, which lines up with the title placeholder in nearly every standard PowerPoint layout.
What format do I actually get back?
A plain text file in Markdown format, ending in .md, with a heading for each slide and bullet points underneath. It opens in any text editor and pastes cleanly into an AI chat window.
Does this work for really long decks?
Yes, decks of any length are supported, up to the 10MB upload limit.
